India went on to win the third T20I on Sunday and thus, whitewashed West Indies. Everything went right for the men in blue. However, the one thing which didn't go right for them was an unfortunate injury during the game.
Indian pacer Deepak Chahar suffered an injury while fielding. He pulled his hamstring in the last delivery of his second over. After which, he was seen limping off the field.
It is to be noted that he looked good during his spell. As a matter of fact, he had picked two wickets before leaving the field. However, Venkatesh Iyer covered up for him, and bowled two overs. He too managed to pick two wickets.
The extent of damage to Chahar's injury is yet to be disclosed. However, according to a report by India Today, it is being ascertained. However, if it happens to be a tear, then he might have to miss a few games of the upcoming fifteenth edition of the Indian T20 league as well.
Chahar recently grabbed the headlines for the same as Chennai managed to buy him back for a whopping amount of INR 14 crore. Thus, the fans of the franchise would hope that he regains fitness as soon as possible. However, A grade one tear takes six weeks for complete recovery and of that's the case, Chahar will likely miss the SL series only. The first T20I between the two teams is all set to take place on February 24. India will play the final 2 T20Is on 26th and 27th February before the start of the 2 match Test series from March 4.
