Star Australian Test batter Marnus Labuschagne is currently at the receiving end of the anger from the Indian fans. He got into this trouble because of a response he gave to the tweet of former legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar.
Just after his reply to Sachin’s tweet, Labuschagne fell prey to the angst of the Indian cricket fans. They went on to teach the manners to the Australian batter.
The users took to Twitter for directing Labuschagne on how to behave while responding to a tweet or anything from a former absolute legend of the game.
Marnus replied to the tweet from Sachin Tendulkar for the Indian women's cricket team
It all started when former batting great Sachin Tendulkar posted a tweet to wish good luck to the Indian women’s cricket team as they were facing Australia in the inaugural match of the competition. It was the first time when cricket was making a comeback at the Commonwealth Games since the last time it was played in Malaysia at CWG 1998.
“Wonderful to see cricket back in the Commonwealth Games. Hope this takes our beautiful game to newer audiences. Best wishes to @BCCIWomen's team for their #CWG22 campaign” read the tweet from Tendulkar.
Responding to Sachin’s tweet, Labuschagne tweeted, “Agreed Sachin. Aus v India is going to be an amazing opener too.” This gesture from the Aussie lad invited trouble for him. Fans lashed out him for not giving respect to the legend of the game. They did not late in criticizing Marnus for calling the Indian great only by his first name.
Earlier, Sachin Tendulkar lauded Labuschagne in 2020 for his amazing footwork. The 48-year-old went on to say that Labuschagne’s footwork reminds him of his footwork.
Speaking about the first match of the cricket competition in CWG 2022, then it was not the one Indian team and fans expected. Australia won the thrilling nail-biter with a margin of just three wickets.
India bowler Renuka Singh Thakur scalped four wickets by conceding just 18 runs in her quota of four overs. But her efforts went in vain due to the batting heroics of Australian batter Ashleigh Gardner
Here’s how fans reacted to Labuschagne’s reply to Tendulkar’s tweet:
