The former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary has been making the news for his comments after his retirement. The 38-year-old called time on his career after playing for Bengal during the recent Indian domestic season.
Manoj Tiwary questioned MS Dhoni over his unfulfilled Indian career. The right-handed batter made his debut in 2008 and even scored an ODI ton three years later. His career ended in 2015 during India’s tour of Zimbabwe before he was even 30.
Yet another former Indian cricketer has been targeted by Manoj Tiwary. The player is no one other than Gautam Gambhir the former India teammate and KKR skipper of the 38-year-old.
During an interview with Anand Bazaar Patrika, the 38-year-old revealed how he had fought with Gambhir. The alleged incident as per the former cricketer took place in the KKR dressing room.
Manoj Tiwary slams Gautam Gambhir –
Former Indian star Gautam Gambhir has come under fire from recently retired player Manoj Tiwary. The two stars had shared a dressing room for team India, Delhi Daredevils, and later the Kolkata Knight Riders.
During his chat with the media, Tiwary said “The fight with Gambhir is the one that I regret. I respect my seniors and I am not a person who goes and fights with others. It was one such moment where I lost my cool and it should have been avoided. However, that incident spoilt my image”
The two stars had a huge fight during an Indian domestic game between Delhi and Bengal. While speaking to the Times of India, Tiwary said “Bahar mil tu match ke baad. It was really immature of him to say that”. Tiwary also said “The fact that we shared the same dressing room and had a great bond is why I regret the fight with Gambhir. We used to have a lot of discussion and brainstorming in Kolkata”
It was under Gautam Gambhir that Manoj Tiwary won the IPL with KKR in 2012. That didn’t stop him from highlighting and calling out the former KKR skipper and blaming him more. “During my time at KKR, I had a big fight with Gambhir in the dressing room. It never came to light. KKR became champions in 2012. I got a chance to play for KKR in 2013, had I not fought with Gambhir in 2013, maybe I could have played for another 2-3 years. That means the amount I was supposed to get as per the contract would have gone up. Bank balance would have been strengthened, I never thought of that”
