The 45th match of the Indian T20 league 2022 saw Lucknow beat Delhi by six runs. With this loss, things have got a lot more trickier for the Delhi-based franchise. As for the Lucknow-based franchise, This is their win seventh win of this season. They now look like a formidable unit.

Owing to the humid conditions in Mumbai, Lucknow won the toss and decided to bat first. They got to an explosive start with Quinton de Kock hitting some handy boundaries. However, he didn't last long as Shardul Thakur dismissed him in the fifth over. Yet, they scored 57 runs in the first six overs.

Deepak Hooda walked in to bat at three, and played the role of an aggressor. In the meanwhile, their skipper KL Rahul decided to hold the

innings from one end. He didn't too many risks and played it safe. Hooda and his skipper then put together a 95-run partnership.

The 27-year-old scored a brilliant 52 from 34 balls. However, he had to depart in the 15th over. After which, Marcus Stoinis accompanied the opener in the middle. However, he struggled and couldn't get going. Nevertheless, Rahul went on to score an amazing 77 from 51 balls. While his strike rate was 150.98 during his knock, it consisted of four fours and five sixes.

This propelled them to get to 195-3 in the first innings. Although Delhi's Shardul Thakur picked three wickets, he went for 40 runs in his full quota of four overs. During the second innings, Delhi's openers were quick to return to the pavilion. Mitchell Marsh couldn't convert his start into a big score as he was dismissed for a 20-ball 37. Although he was caught behind by De Kock, the replays showed that the ball didn't touch the bat, and Marsh wouldn't have to depart If he had reviewed it.

Nevertheless, Delhi's skipper Rishabh Pant and Rovman Powell joined hands and took the aggressive route. They scored some quick runs. Lucknow's sloppy fielding didn't help their cause either. Pant was dismissed after making a 30-ball 44. Powell tried his best to win the game for his side, but to no avail. It was Moshin Khan who dismissed him for 35. The pacer was impressive as he picked four wickets in his full quota of four overs. Axar Patel instilled some life into this game towards the end but the ask was just too much.
