The latest statement from Chief Executive of MCC, Stuart Fox to SEN Radio about the possibilities of an Indo-Pak clash at a neutral venue, and that too at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground has attracted the eyeballs of the cricketing fraternity.

“Absolutely. Three in a row would be lovely at the MCG. You’d fill it every time. We have asked. We’ve taken that up with Cricket Australia. I know the government has as well. Again, it’s enormously complicated from what I can understand, amongst a really busy schedule. So, I think that’s probably the greater challenge,” said Fox to SEN Radio.

“Hopefully, Cricket Australia keeps taking it up with the ICC and keep pushing for it. When you do see some of the stadiums around the world unoccupied, I think it would be much better to have a full house and that atmosphere and celebrate the game with full houses,” he added later.

Although, the cricket fans from both India and Pakistan didn’t buy MCC CEO’s statements and they took to Twitter to troll Australia as they are trying to earn big profits from the Indo-Pak rivalry.

Currently, Pakistan is in action against New Zealand in the ongoing first of the two-match Test series at the National Stadium in Karachi. Babar Azam’s men recently lost to England by a big margin of 0-3 in the three-match Test series. Notably, the Pakistani team is already out of contention for the final of the World Test championship 2023.

On the other hand, the Indian team under the captaincy of stand-in skipper KL Rahul took on Bangladesh in the two-match Test series and won it with a whitewash of 2-0.

Now, the men in blue will take on Sri Lanka in their next bilateral assignment in white-ball cricket. Hardik Pandya will lead the team in the three-match T20I series against the visitors starting on the 3rd of January 2023.
