‘LSG ka matches fix karwane ka advance award’ - Fans troll Jay Shah as he gets awarded for his contributions to sports field

Jay Shah is currently the secretary of the Indian Cricket Board since 2019. He is also the president of the Asian Cricket Council. But, now, he made headlines after getting inducted into the 'Hello!' Hall of Fame Award 2023 for his contribution to the sports field. An image has gone viral where Sanjeev Goenka was seen giving him the award.

Seeing that, some fans claimed that the LSG owner might be giving him the award for fixing the ongoing IPL title. Speaking about Jay Shah, he is the son of India’s Home Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah. He was the executive board member of the Central Board of Cricket, Ahmedabad, starting in 2009. Then, Shah became the joint secretary of the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) in September 2013.

Jay Shah is a part of the Indian Cricket Board since 2019

During his tenure as joint secretary, the Narendra Modi Stadium got constructed in Ahmedabad. In 2015, Jay Shah became a member of the finance and marketing committees of the Indian Cricket Board. He left the position of GCA joint secretary in 2019. In 2021, Asian Cricket Council appointed Shah as President. However, fans were quite surprised to see him getting that award. Under his tenure so far, Team India have failed to win any major titles. In 2023, he also inaugurated the first season Women’s T20 League in India. 

However, he came into the headlines before the 20-20 World Cup in 2022. The next edition of the Asia Cup is scheduled to take place in Pakistan in 2023. Regarding that, Jay Shah said that the Men in Blue will not visit Pakistan for the tournament. He even said that the tournament might get shifted to a neutral venue. After that, several meetings took place. As per recent developments, the tournament will take place in Pakistan. But, India might play all of their matches in a different country.
