Mumbai are arguably the best team in the history of the Indian T20 league. They have won the most number of titles in the history of the league (five). There have been many world-class batters who have played for this franchise.
Some of these batters have gone to score centuries for the Mumbai-based franchise as well. Today, we shall be taking a look at the list of players who have scored a century for Mumbai in the history of the Indian T20 league.
1) Sanath Jayasuriya-114*(48)
Although the inaugural edition wasn't really a memorable one for the franchise, Sanath Jayasuriya played one of the best knocks of the season. He scored an unbeaten 114 from just 48 deliveries. It came against Chennai.
After being asked to chase 157, the Lankan all-rounder came out all guns blazing. His knock included nine fours and 11 sixes. This was the then second-fastest hundred in the league.
2) Sachin Tendulkar- 100*(66)
Sachin Tendulkar is synonymous with the number hundred. It was in 2011 when he scored his maiden hundred in the Indian T20 League, and it came against the now-defunct Kochi.
He scored an unbeaten 100 off just 66 balls. This happened to be the second hundred by a Mumbai batter. However, his efforts went in vain as Kochi ended up winning the game.
3) Rohit Sharma- 109*(60)
Before Rohit Sharma won five titles as Mumbai's captain, he scored a hundred during the fifth edition of the league. While batting first at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Sharma showed everyone why he loves that ground so much. He showed no mercy towards the opposition bowlers.
He scored an unbeaten 109 from just 60 balls against Kolkata. At the end, Mumbai ended up winning the game. This is Sharma's highest score in the T20 extravaganza even today.
4) Lendl Simmons- 100*(61)
After joining Mumbai as a replacement in 2014, Lendl Simmons was absolutely sensational for the franchise. In fact, he was the first player to score a hundred in the seventh edition of the league. He scored his century against Punjab.
Simmons went on to score an unbeaten hundred off 61 balls. His knock included 14 boundaries and two sixes. Thus, Simmons turned out to be an absolute gem for the Sharma-led side.
