The league stage of the 2023 ODI World Cup is over and we are entering the knockout week. Four semi-final spots have been locked up, with hosts India becoming the first team to qualify with 9 consecutive wins. The Men in Blue will face New Zealand in the first semi-final, while South Africa will take on five-time champions Australia in the second knockout match.
With the World Cup group phase coming to an end, we now have a clear picture of the teams that have qualified for the 2025 Champions Trophy. The teams that have finished in the top 8 of the points table have automatically qualified for the marquee event. England last made the list after beating Pakistan by 93 runs at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on November 11.
All four semifinalists have qualified, along with tournament hosts Pakistan and sixth-ranked Afghanistan. Notably, the 2025 Champions Trophy will be Afghanistan's maiden campaign in the premier 50-over tournament. Before the 2023 ODI World Cup, they had won just one game in their tournament history. However, this time they registered four wins, that too defeating three world champions England, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Having an edge in terms of Net Run Rate (NRR), Bangladesh also managed to qualify for the upcoming major international event as the 8th team. Meanwhile, 1996 World Cup winners Sri Lanka and the Netherlands failed to qualify for the Champions Trophy after finishing ninth and tenth, respectively.
Here is the list of teams that have qualified for the Champions Trophy 2025

Pakistan made automatic qualification as they host the tournament. England's spot was in danger after losing a string of matches. However, they bounced back in the last two games to finish with 6 points. The Champions Trophy was last held in England in 2017, where Pakistan emerged victorious.
