The young Indian opener Ishan Kishan has achieved a historic feat with his swashbuckling double century against Bangladesh. The 24-year-old smashed 210 runs off just 131 balls with 24 boundaries and 10 sixes to his name. He has also become the first batter to score the fastest double century in ODI cricket surpassing the record of former Caribbean legend Chris Gayle.

Although the young Jharkhand batter missed the 264-run mark of current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma. Ishan fell prey to the young Bangla pacer, Taskin Ahmed, in the 36th over of the match. The fans were expecting Ishan to make history by crossing Rohit Sharma’s record.

Speaking of the ongoing third ODI so far, the visitors have posted a total of 409 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs. Ishan Kishan has smashed the fastest double century in the history of ODI cricket. He played a knock of 210 runs off 131 balls with 24 boundaries and 10 sixes to his name.

Other than him, Virat Kohli also played a knock of 113 runs off 91 balls with 11 boundaries and two sixes on his credit. Apart from Ishan Kishan and Virat Kohli, lower-order batter and all-rounder Washington Sundar also displayed a short cameo of 37 runs off 27 balls with four boundaries and a six to his name.

Although the Indian team also faced a collapse at the end of the innings as they lost their nine wickets in the span of only 104 runs and got restricted to the score of 409 runs.

Taskin Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain, and Shakib Al Hasan scalped two wickets each for Bangladesh alongside one wicket each taken by Mustafizur Rahman and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

At the time of filling this copy, Bangladesh has lost two wickets on the score of 53 runs. Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim are there in the middle for the hosts while chasing the mammoth target of 410 runs.
