After wreaking havoc in Australia's T20 league, there was a lot of hype pertaining to the Singaporean. Besides, he has been hitting sixes for fun in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). Thus, the cricket pundits expected him to fetch big bucks in this mega auction.

Delhi, Punjab, Kolkata and Mumbai engaged in a major battle in order to acquire his services. At the end, the five-time champions purchased him for a whopping amount of INR 8.25 crore.

It is to be noted that David was with Bangalore in the previous edition in 2021, and went on to play a game as well. However, with the amount Mumbai have spent on him, he is most likely to get a consistent place in the XI. In the meanwhile, David is currently playing for Multan Sultans in Pakistan's T20 league.
