Defending champions Chennai are currently playing their third match against Punjab. Skipper Ravindra Jadeja won the toss and asked Punjab to bat first. Chennai made a great start with the ball as young pacer Mukesh Chaudhary sent Mayank Agarwal back to the hut on just the second ball of the first over of the innings.

Chris Jordan came on to bowl the second over, and in-form batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa hit him for a six on the very first ball. However, the second ball saw a complete mix-up between Rajapaksa and Shikhar Dhawan. The Sri Lankan batter pushed one to the left of Jordan and straightaway ran for a single. But Dhawan, on the other hand, was resistant to take the single and later denied him the run.

However, by that time, the middle-order batter was already halfway down the pitch. Jordan quickly collected the ball and threw it to the striker’s end. MS Dhoni, who is known to have a great presence of mind, ran towards the wicket and covered the ground pretty quickly to collect the ball and rattled the stump with an underarm throw.

Rajapaska’s wicket left Punjab in trouble at 14 for 2. However, Punjab have recovered brilliantly, courtesy of a brilliant partnership between Shikhar Dhawan and Liam Livingstone. The duo added 95 runs for the third wicket and helped the team reach the 100-run mark.

Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo, though, have brought Chennai back into the game, as they have sent both Dhawan and Livingstone back to the hut. At the time of writing, Punjab are 170 for 7 in 18.3overs.
