‘Lag hi Nai raha yeh retire hua hai’ - Fans react as Gautam Gambhir scores third consecutive fifty in LLC Masters for India Maharajas

On 14 March 2023, India Maharajas took on Asia Lions in the ongoing LLC Masters. After losing the first two matches, Gautam Gambhir and his men were looking for their first win. On the other hand, Asia Lions were looking to win again against them after defeating them in the tournament opener.

Gautam Gambhir was coming off with great form after hitting two fifties in two matches. So, fans were hoping to see him continuing the form with the bat. Speaking of the match, Gambhir won the toss and elected to field first. For Asia Lions, Upul Tharanga and Tillakaratne Dilshan came out to open the innings. 

Gautam Gambhir has now scored 183 runs so far in three matches of the LLC Masters

Tharanga scored 69 runs off 48 balls, including seven fours and two sixes. While Dilshan scored 32 runs off 27 balls, including four boundaries and one six. Apart from them, Abdul Razzaq scored some 27* runs off 17 balls. Thus, they managed to score 157 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. For India Maharajas, Suresh Raina took two wickets for 16 runs in two overs. While Pravin Tambe, Harbhajan Singh, and Stuart Binny took one wicket each. In reply, Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa came out for the chase.

They began the innings with some delightful shots and continued to hit every bowler all around the park. Thus, the Maharajas managed to chase the target down in just 12.3 overs with all 10 wickets in hand. Skipper Gambhir showed his class again as he scored 61* runs off 36 balls, including 12 boundaries. But, it was Robin Uthappa who looked phenomenal as he scored 88* runs off 39 balls, including 11 fours and five sixes. Uthappa won teh player of the match award for his blistering knock during the chase. With this win, they managed to open their account in the ongoing tournament. Gambhir has scored 183 runs so far in three matches, including three fifties.
