As such, ahead of their all-important game against GT, MI skipper Rohit Sharma was seen practicing in the nets. Fans took no time to start trolling the experienced batters. Unfortunately, he hasn’t had a fruitful time in IPL 2023, recording the unfortunate feat of having the most ducks in IPL.

Recently, Rohit Sharma opened up on the declining need for an anchor in T20 Cricket. He said, "As I see it, there is no role for an anchor now. It is just how T20 cricket is played these days unless you are 20/3 or 4, which is not going to happen every day. Once in a while, you will be in that position and then someone needs to anchor the innings and finish off to a good score. There is no role for an anchor anymore, guys are playing differently."
