Star Indian all-rounder and T20I captain Hardik Pandya visited Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s residence to meet the latter. Pandya brothers met Amit Shah on Saturday new year's eve just two days ahead of the three-match T20I series between Sri Lanka and India from Tuesday, the 3rd of January.
The 29-year-old shared the photographs of him and his brothers meeting with Amit Shah and extended his gratitude to Shah for meeting them.
"Thank you for inviting us to spend invaluable time with you Honourable Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji. It was an honor and privilege to meet you," read the tweet posted by Hardik Pandya.

Although, this meetup of Hardik Pandya with veteran BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah couldn’t go easy for the cricket fans. They went on to troll the Baroda all-rounder and accused him of assuring captaincy of the national team of India.
Here’s how fans reacted:
This is the reason, why he has been captain of T20 team, without performance and fitness.

Even cricket is being saffronised, first it was Jadeja, now its Pandya's, not surprisingly all are Gujuratis.. This is where Virat Kohli must be admired, didn't cross the political line even during his highs and lows of his captaincy.

It's all about Politics 🤠
Never seen, Rohit, Virat, Dhawan with any other politicians 😡
Hardik Pandya is better than Rohit sharma in terms of both captaincy and batting. Rohit can't play in knockouts. In his 15 year career '0' 50's for Rohit in knockout matches.

Tu tension mat le...Jay ko bolta hun mai tujhe All format Captain banane ko.
Both brothers came from roots (similar to Pathan Brothers)...I truly believe Hardik can cause change in Indian Whiteball cricket.

Speaking of the political involvement of cricketers, earlier, Ravindra Jadeja’s wife Rivaba Jadeja had won from the Jamnagar Constituency in the Gujarat Assembly elections 2022. Since then, there have been claims that Jadeja is now officially and completely inclined toward the right wing.
Coming back to cricket, the Indian Cricket Board has announced the team for the home series of three T20Is. Hardik Pandya is set to lead the team in the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma. Former skipper and veteran batter Virat Kohli alongside senior batter KL Rahul will also miss this three-match T20I series.
World number one T20I batter and star Indian batting sensation Suryakumar Yadav will be there in the role of Pandya’s deputy during the three T20Is against Australia.
Here’s a look at the squad of India for the home T20I series against Sri Lanka:
Hardik Pandya (C), Suryakumar Yadav (VC), Ishan Kishan (WK), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill, Deepak Hooda, Rahul Tripathi, Sanju Samson, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Harshal Patel, Umran Malik, Shivam Mavi, Mukesh Kumar
