Rohit Sharma and his men ended the Asia Cup 2023 on a high when they defeated Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in the final in Colombo. With that win, Rohit has now won two Asia Cup titles as skipper. In the 2018 edition, he was the skipper who led to the glory. After that victory, Team India players left the team hotel in order to come back to India.

But, a video went viral where Rohit was seen confused in the team bus after losing his passport in the Colombo hotel. Later, a support staff gave it back to him and as a result, the team’s departure was delayed. However, fans know about Rohit’s habit of forgetting things as Kohli also talked about it in a 5-year-old video.

He said: “The number of things Rohit Sharma forgets; I have never seen anyone else so forgetful." Hence, seeing that viral video, fans shared their views on social media. After the final, Rohit attended a press conference and while speaking to the reporters, he opened up about the challenging pitches his team faced leading into the ODI World Cup. 

He said: "Honestly I was a little surprised at how much the wicket did. Because we didn't expect the wicket to do that much. That's been the nature of this ground <R Premadasa Stadium>, you have to be prepared for unexpected things. Those are the challenges you come across as sportsmen. In conditions like this you don't know exactly what the right score is, what the winning score is.”   

"We defended 213 against Sri Lanka but the other day we couldn't chase 266 , and today we bowled them out for 50. So, the nature of the pitches here has been challenging, unexpected as well. I mean when the pitch had so much to offer, we needed guys who have the skill to exploit that,” Rohit Sharma further added.
