The Jonny Bairstow vs Virat Kohli verbal spat might have ended in just a few minutes. However, the fans are still refusing to forget it. The sledging between the two players ended up being beneficial for Bairstow as he scored a century with a healthy strike rate. The incident happened on July 3. The Englishman had played it down by saying that it is part and parcel of the game.

However, it looks like the England cricket team fan club 'Barmy Army' weren't in a mood to move on from it. Notably, they also change the name of the handle from 'Barmy Army' to 'Jonny Bairstow Barmy Army'. The fan club posted an image of the verbal spat where Kohli was seen asking his counterpart to shut up.

The image was captioned 'Bairstow has scored more runs in the last 25 days than Kohli has in the last 18 months.'

This didn't go down well with the Indian fans. Some of them went on to say that the former Indian skipper has more hundreds than the entire England team. Talking about the game played at Edgbaston, the Three Lions managed to chase down the target of 378 runs. With this win, they have managed to level the series by 2-2 which started last August.

With this, India once again couldn't register a series win in the United Kingdom since 2007. At that time, Rahul Dravid, who is currently the head coach of the Indian team, was leading the side. In 2011, 2014, and 2018, the team managed to win only two wins combining these series. Now with the longest format series done and dusted, the team will be looking to win the three-match T20I and ODI series.

The T20I series will start on July 7. A lot of first-choice players from the Indian team won't be participating in the first game. They will join the team before the second T20I. After the T20I games, the tour will conclude with the ODI series.
