England under the captaincy of Ben Stokes locked horns with Pakistan in the first of the three-match Test series. Both teams played this match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. The visitors won the toss and decided to bat first at the flat track of Pindi stadium.
Till the fourth day of the match, everybody in the cricketing fraternity was expecting a draw but the three lions completely turned the tables on the last day and they posted a target of 343 runs. Subsequently, the English bowling attack bundled up Babar Azam’s men on the score of 268 runs and won the match by 74 runs.
Later on, the journalists went on to ask Ben Stokes about the reason for the early declaration to which he responded with a very fair and blunt approach.
"I've got no interest in trying to play for a draw, the dressing room has no interest in playing for a draw. Felt on this kind of wicket, almost had to entice the batsmen to play an attacking shot. Today we were fortunate to get the ball reverse-swinging," said Stokes.
Following these comments from Ben Stokes, fans didn’t take too long to recall the statement of Virat Kohli from 2015 when he conveyed almost the same message as Stokes said in the aftermath of the win against Pakistan. Cricket fans took to Twitter to hail the captaincy skills of both Kohli and Stokes.

Virat Kohli in 2014 - playing for a draw is a negative approach. We have to believe in winning the game.

Recently, Virat Kohli is in action with the Indian team during the ongoing series against Bangladesh. Although he couldn’t deliver up to the expectations in the first match against Bangladesh and went back to the pavilion only on the score of nine runs off 15 balls with one boundary.
