Suryakumar Yadav had a forgettable three-match ODI series against Australia. In all three matches, he managed only golden ducks each time. The number one-ranked batter in the shortest format of the game was absolutely clueless against the questions the Aussie bowlers asked him.

He also achieved an unwanted record to his name as Suryakumar became the first Indian player to score three consecutive golden ducks in their cricketing history. Now, the Indian politician, Shashi Tharoor came up and shared a tweet to show support for Sanju Samson instead of Suryakumar Yadav.

Here is the shared tweet:

“That can happen to anyone.” - Rohit Sharma on Suryakumar Yadav

Speaking of the tweet, Tharoor wrote: “Now that poor @surya_14kumar has set an unenviable world record w/ his three golden ducks in a row, is it unreasonable to ask why @IamSanjuSamson, averaging averaging 66 in ODIs despite batting at an unfamiliar position for him at 6, wasn't in the squad? What does he need to do?” It has always been in the headlines regarding the selection of Sanju Samson. It has been always found that other players have been give more priority compared to him despite scoring runs in recent matches. After the series, team India's skipper, Rohit Sharma claimed that it was quite tough to judge the Suryakumar’s form in the series.

In the press conference, he said: “He only played three balls in three (games) this series. I don’t know how much to look into it. He got three good balls, to be honest. Today, it wasn’t that good ball, he should have gone forward. He knows best. He plays spin so well. We have seen that over last couple of years. That’s why we held him back and give him that role for the last 15-20 overs where he can play his game, but it’s really unfortunate he could only play three balls. That can happen to anyone. But the potential and ability is always there. He is just going through that phase right now.”
