On 29 January 2023, India Women’s team had a chance to win the first edition of the Under-19 20-20 World Cup title. They took on England in Potchefstroom. However, they did not disappoint their fans as India Women’s team made history by winning the title. It was the first-ever major title in the history of Women’s cricket in India.
After such a historical achievement, the Indian Cricket Board’s secretary, Jay Shah announced a hefty cash prize money for all the players and support staff. I am delighted to announce INR 5 crore for the entire team and support staff as prize money. This is surely a path-breaking year.
