The 68^th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) saw Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) go head-to-head against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in a must-win game for both sides. In the end, Krunal Pandya-led LSG stole a one-run win in a final ball thriller and booked their place in the IPL 2023 playoffs. KKR's Rinku Singh led a brilliant effort but fell short by one single run in the end.

Rinku Singh impressively hit the six to get to his fifty. When he spotted a back-of-length ball, Rinku Singh capitalised on Naveen ul Haq's slot. The ball made good contact with the bat and disappeared into the starry night. The young hitter hit a thunderous six that sailed into the Eden Gardens bleachers as he lifted his bat to reach the fifty-run mark.

While remaining unbeaten on 67 from 33 balls and thrilling the Eden Gardens audience, Rinku Singh continued his onslaught. He batted with a strike rate of 203 while scoring six fours and four sixes to keep the home team in contention for a significant triumph over LSG.

After the game, Gautam Gambhir spoke with Rinku, Nitish Rana and Suyash Sharma from KKR and uploaded a photo of them on Twitter, praising the KKR finisher. "What an effort Rinku made today", he wrote. "Sensational talent!" Along with Gambhir, the captains of the two teams had nothing but admiration for Rinku's performance in the game and overall performance.

Feels like all 14 matches; I've spoken about Rinku. I am personally very happy for him (Rinku), and I don't really have words to describe about him because the entire world has seen what he can do on a cricket field," said KKR captain Nitish Rana.

"Rinku has been special this year; every game when he's there, you can't take it easy. Today he showed it again, but it is a high-pressure situation while bowling death overs to execute our plans," added LSG skipper Krunal Pandya.
