Kashmir Solidarity Day is observed on February 5 by people in Pakistan and Kashmir. In 1990, the opposition leader of Pakistan at the time, Nawaz Sharif established this day. Now, Pakistan cricketer, Mohammad Rizwan made headlines by sharing a tweet for his fans in order to celebrate the day.

Speaking about this day, Nawaz Sharif called for a strike throughout the country in order to protest against the Indian army. It was even held in some parts of Kashmir. This Kashmir issue has been a top political issue between India and Pakistan. Even, international leaders and the United Nations have been unable to resolve the issue.

Speaking of the tweet, it reads: “Mera dil, duaaain or dard Kashmir or Kashmirio k saath hai. Allah pak ap sab k liye be-inteha asaani karain, Ameen. #KashmirSolidarityDay”. As soon as he tweeted it, the tweet went viral. Pakistani fans came up and tweeted in support of their wicketkeeper. But, Indian fans were not happy as they came up and trolled Mohammad Rizwan for talking about Kashmir. Speaking about Rizwan’s recent performance for the Men in Green, he did not play in the two-match home Test series against New Zealand. 

Speaking about Kashmir Solidarity Day, is a public holiday in Pakistan and Kashmir. On this day, banks, offices, and educational institutions remain closed. Mohammad Rizwan is currently busy playing the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League for Comilla Victorians. He has scored 316 runs in eight innings, at an average of 63.20. Rizwan has already managed four fifties so far. As of now, Rizwan has played 159 international matches for Pakistan across all three formats. In 159 innings, he has scored 5255 runs, at an average of 41.05. Mohammad Rizwan has managed five centuries and 38 fifties so far in his career.
