Rabada landed in India after featuring in the two ODIs of the 3 match series against Pakistan. He went into quarantine on April 6. Rabada is most likely to make a cut into the playing XI in place of Tom Curran. The South African was on fire in the 2020 season and won the purple cap. He played a crucial role in DC’s journey to the final, scalping 30 wickets at an astounding economy rate of 8.34. Rabada will be a big boost for the Delhi Capitals who are sweating over the availability of Anrich Nortje and Ishant Sharma.
Anrich Nortje was also expected to feature in the playing XI of Delhi but few reports suggested that he tested positive for the Coronavirus. The 27-year-old carried a negative report with him but was tested positive while in quarantine. However, he tested negative thereafter but the result of another test is still awaited.
Nortje had a stellar IPL 2020 as he picked up 22 wickets at an economy of 8.39. In the absence of Nortje, Chris Woakes is likely to retain his place in the XI. Woakes impressed in the game against CSK and returned with figures of 18-2 in 3 overs.
