On 27 April 2023, Pakistan began their five-match ODI series at home against New Zealand. The Men in Green managed a shocking result in the recently concluded five-match T20I series against the Kiwis. Despite leading the series 2-0 after the first two matches, they failed to win it as the series ended 2-2. But, now, Babar Azam and his men will look to do well in the ODI series against the Kiwis.

In the context of the upcoming Asia Cup and ODI World Cup, this series is going to be a huge one. On the other hand, Dr. Nauman Niaz is known as a famous television personality, cricket correspondent, and writer in Pakistan. He often gets seen conducting big shows regarding Pakistan’s matches. But, he made headlines due to his epic reply to a question on social media.

Speaking of the tweet, one Twitter page named Change of Pace tweeted a question: “Who is Pakistan's Greatest Men's ODI Player of All Time?”. In reply to that, Niaz wrote: “Regardless of the statistics - Sir Vivian Richards.” Seeing that fans went crazy and they trolled Nauman Riaz brutally. It was quite shocking to see him with such an answer as Sir Vivian Richards was a great player for West Indies. Speaking of the series, Babar shared his views ahead of the first match during the pre-match conference. 

He said: “Every match that we play from now on holds great significance for us. This series is a brilliant opportunity for us to fine-tune our combinations and gather the momentum ahead of the mega events in the shape of the Asia Cup and the much-anticipated World Cup. This team has done well in the past one year in the one-day format and I have firm faith in my boys that they will perform according to expectations in the exciting next seven months”. Speaking of the match, New Zealand batted first and scored 288 runs for seven wickets in 50 overs. In reply, Pakistan were batting on 125 runs for one wicket in 22 overs.
