Indian team has made it to the semi-finals of the eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup following an unexpected turnaround of things on Sunday. The Netherlands defeated South Africa by a margin if 13 runs in a shocking upset. The Dutch team’s win also helped Pakistan to reach the semis with a surprising bounce back.
Now, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team will face England following their impressive win in the last super-12 match against Zimbabwe by 71 runs. Following a good start from KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav played a swashbuckling knock of 61 runs off just 25 balls to help India post a massive total of 186 runs for the loss of five wickets. While defending the target, the Indian bowlers bundled up the Zimbabwean batting lineup with only on the score 115 runs.
As India is set to play against England in the semi-finals so fans were really happy that the men in blue have avoided Kane Williamson’s New Zealand in the World Cup 2022 semi-finals considering the outcome of the semi-final of the 2019 ODI World Cup and some other head-to-head clashes in the marquee tournament.
Here’s how fans reacted to the lineup of the semi-finals:
