Indian skipper Rohit Sharma who has been out-of-form so far in the ongoing edition of the 20-20 World Cup 2022, is now on the receiving end of trolling remarks from some of the Indian cricket fans for his recent remarks on Suryakumar Yadav’s batting. The 35-year-old was in a conversation with the journalists during the pre-match press conference.

Speaking of his own form, Sharma has only 89 runs to his name in the five matches of the super-12 round he played so far. While heading to Australia for the eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup, Rohit had some big things to say about the ‘fearless’ approach of the Indian batting lineup. Sharma himself recalled his statement ahead of the marquee tournament in Australia.

It is not about coming and swinging the bat - Rohit Sharma

“I remember talking about playing fearlessly. For us looking at the conditions here, it is not about coming and swinging the bat. It is only because of conditions. It is about adapting to conditions,” said Rohit in pre-match PC.

Later on, while talking about star Indian batting sensation and World number-one T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav, the skipper said that the latter doesn’t carry any baggage with him. Subsequently, Rohit went on to clarify his ‘baggage’ remarks about SKY.

“I think he is the sort of guy who just doesn’t carry any baggage with him. Not his suitcases, I mean he’s got a lot of suitcases. Honestly speaking, he loves his shopping. But when it comes to carrying that extra pressure, extra baggage,” he added later.

Although Rohit Sharma’s approach of being funny despite his own poor form with the bat didn’t go down well with some of the Indian cricket fans. They took no time in coming up with trolling remarks for the Indian skipper and veteran batter. Notably, the three-time ODI double centurions has scored only one half-century in the current edition of 20-20 World Cup, and that too against a lower-ranked team like the Netherlands.
