The action returned in the Women's T20 League as the two unbeaten teams of the league clashed against each other in the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday. Delhi won the toss and chose to bat first. However, Mumbai made a meal out of Delhi's invitation to field first, as three bowlers returned with three-wicket hauls. The remaining wicket was cleaned up by India's star allrounder Pooja Vastrakar.

For Banglore, Shafali Verma could not impress as she got out for just 2 runs off 6 deliveries. However, her opening partner and skipper, Meg Lanning, tried to get their innings back on track with a knock of 43 off 42 deliveries.

Hayley Matthews remained the star for Mumbai with 3 wickets and 32 run

The captain aside, no other Delhi batter looked in good touch. India's middle-order mainstay Jemimah Rodrigues did get a start knocking 25 off 18, courtesy of three boundaries. But, she could not build her side's resurgence as a batting collapse followed for Bangalore after her dismissal. From 81/4, they lost six wickets for just 24 runs, putting just 105 on the board for Mumbai to chase.

In reply, Mumbai were off to a flying start, with openers Hayley Matthews and Yastika Bhatia adding 65 for the opening partnership. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt then took Mumbai home as both remained unbeaten. Mumbai reached the target within 15 overs and secured their third consecutive win in the league by 8 wickets. For Delhi, Tara Norris and Alice Capsey returned with a wicket apiece.

Next in the inaugural season of the Women's T20 League, Bangalore will face off against UP in the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Bangalore, led by India's star batter Smriti Mandhana are still winless in the tournament after three games. They will look to open their account against UP, who have won one and lost one in the league so far.
