The all-time greatest speedster in England, James Anderson played a crucial role in his team's convincing victory against Pakistan. Notably, the three lions defeated the hosts by a margin of 26 runs in the recently concluded second Test of the three-match series. The 40-year-old stunned the star Pakistan batter Mohammad Rizwan with an absolutely brilliant delivery during Pakistan's run chase in Multan Test.
Alongside Jimmy, his fellow teammate, and senior speedster Mark Wood completely outmuscled the Pakistan batting line-up, and the latter scalped a total of four wickets in the second innings of the penultimate Test match of the series.
While discussing Pakistan's embarrassing defeat against the visitors, former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal lavished praises on the English great, Anderson. Meanwhile, Akmal also went on to take a dig at the cricket board of his country.
We don't think about the country but about individuals - Kamran Akmal
"Thank God Jimmy Anderson is not from Pakistan. He would have been thrown out of the team long ago, citing his age as the reason. The other teams think about their country. However, we do not have such a system. We don't think about the country but about individuals. Once a player gets old, we think of ways to remove him from the team," said Akmal in a video on his YouTube channel.
The Lancashire-born legendary speedster Anderson has completed 20 years in international cricket. He made his international debut on the 15th of December in 2002 against England in the Melbourne ODI.
Since then, the legend never looked back and has scalped record-breaking 962 international wickets including his great performances in 177 Tests alongside 194 ODIs and 19 T20Is. Notably, Jimmy holds the record for most Test caps for England being the only pacer in the history of the game to take the highest Test wickets.
Now, Anderson will be in action during the last and third of the three-match Test series against the hosts. The national stadium of Karachi will host this final fixture of the Test series between both teams.
