On 23 July 2023, India A took on Pakistan A in the final of the ongoing ACC Men’s Emerging Asia Cup in Colombo. Speaking of the match, India skipper, Yash Dhull won the toss and opted to bowl first. However, the decision proved to be costly as Pakistan set a massive target of 353 runs for the young Indian side.

For the chase, Sai Sudharsan and Abhishek Sharma came out as openers. They managed a good start but fans went crazy as Sudharsan got out over a controversial ‘no-ball’ decision. Speaking of the incident, it took place during the ninth over. On the third delivery, Arshad Iqbal bowled a short ball as Sudharsan tried for a pull shot.

However, the GT batter only managed a top edge and the Pakistan wicketkeeper, skipper Mohammad Haris completed an easy catch under the lights. But, umpires told the batter to wait for a moment as they were unsure about the front foot no-ball. So, the third umpire had a look and after several replays, he also gave Sudharsan out as he scored 29 runs off 28 balls, including four fours. Several videos and images went viral and fans claimed that the decision was not right as it should have gone in favour of the batter.

Speaking of Pakistan’s innings, they scored 352 runs for eight wickets in 50 overs. Tayyab Tahir was the star of the show as he scored 108 runs off 71 balls, including 12 fours and four sixes. Along with him, both the openers, Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan also played well. Ayub scored 59 runs off 51 balls while Farhan smashed 65 runs off 62 balls, including four fours and four sixes. In reply, at the time of this writing, India A were completely in a miserable position as they managed 199 runs for eight wickets after 32 overs. Still, they needed 154 runs in 18 overs. All batters failed while chasing the mammoth total.
