Bangalore fans are hoping to see their team ending the much-awaited trophy draught this time around by winning the 16th edition of the Indian T20 League. For the last 15 years, despite having several top players, this franchise never agreed to win this prestigious trophy a single time.
Already they have dealt with a major blow as Josh Hazlewood is reportedly to miss seven matches due to injury. Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga will also miss a few initial matches due to his national commitments. So, all eyes were on the available bowling department of Bangalore when they played an intra-squad practice match at the Chinnaswamy stadium on 30 March 2023.
Missing Hazlewood will affect the overall bowling lineup of the Bangalore franchise
Speaking of the match, one team was FAF XI and the other was SUYASH XI. While batting first, FAF XI scored 215 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. Faf du Plessis scored 47 runs off 35 balls, including six fours and three sixes. David Willey also smashed 22* runs off just 11 balls, including four boundaries. But, it was Michael Bracewell who scored 105* runs off 55 balls, including eight fours and seven sixes. In the end, the team decided to retire him out. For SUTASH XI, Sonu took one wicket by conceding 38 runs in three overs, and Avinash grabbed one scalp but conceded 38 runs in three overs. Along with them, Himanshu grabbed two wickets for 37 runs in four overs.
In reply, Suyash XI chased down the target as they scored 217 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Glenn Maxwell scored 78* runs off 46 balls, including six fours and six sixes. Along with him, Lomror also scored 48* runs off 27 balls, including seven fours and one six. Both of them got retired out and Anuj also remained not out on 32* runs off 16 balls, including two fours and two sixes. For FAF XI, top bowlers like Mohammed Siraj, and Reece Topley were there. But, they got hammered brutally all over the park. Siraj took two wickets for 49 runs in four overs while Topley grabbed one scalp for 32 runs in four overs. Bracewell took one wicket by conceding 16 runs in two overs. Seeing such a performance from the bowlers, fans were not happy and they slammed them brutally even before the season kicks off.
