The T20 Leagues across the world have always provided the players with a platform to perform exceptionally and get noticed. More often than not, it has been witnessed that cricketers who perform in IPL or PSL, have been included in the national team soon. Islamabad United all-rounder Mohammad Wasim also harbours similar ambitions.
Wasim made a brilliant start to his PSL career picking up 3/29 on debut against the Multan Sultans helping United win a close game. Though he didn’t pick up any wicket in the next match, Wasim kept a lid on the run-scoring conceding only 30 runs in his spell.
Speaking about his ambitions, Mohammad Wasim stated that he wants to play for his country at the highest level. “I want to be an all-rounder for Pakistan and make my name at international level,” he said according to Dawn.
Mohammad Wasim also represented Pakistan at the U19 World Cup in 2020 and also picked up a five-wicket haul against Scotland. Speaking about his experience of playing in the PSL so far, Wasim reckons he is lucky to play with the likes of Shadab Khan and other quality players in the United line-up.
“Islamabad United are too good. We have top-players in Hasan Ali and skipper Shadab Khan. They are all too good and their presence is helping me a great deal,” he further added. Having made a great start to his PSL career, Wasim will now be hoping to continue in the same vein and impress the national selectors.
