On 12 September 2023, Team India qualified for the ongoing Asia Cup final after defeating Sri Lanka by 41 runs while defending just 213 runs in 50 overs. Despite a poor batting display, the bowlers put up a commendable effort to win the game. Hence, the Men in Blue qualified for the final with one more game to play in the ‘Super 4’ stage.

However, it was a disappointing outing for Virat Kohli with the bat as he scored just three runs. He was one of the five wickets that Dunith Wellalage took on a track where balls were gripping and coming slow on the bat. Meanwhile, before this knock, in four innings, Kohli smashed four centuries. So, fans were expecting to see him score another one.

But, his streak came to an end. Meanwhile, a video from the match has now gone viral where the former Team India skipper was seen dancing on the field while fielding. The famous ‘Lungi Dance’ song was playing on the field and Kohli was seen shaking his legs and showing his dance moves. However, Kohli won the Player of the Match award against Pakistan for scoring 122* runs off 94 balls. He and KL Rahul put up an unbeaten partnership of 233* runs for the third wicket.

After winning the Player of the Match award, Kohli said: "I always prepared my game in a way I can help the team. Today was a classic example of you don't get off to a good start... KL started better, I was trying to bring him on strike and playing second fiddle. And yes, then after that I stepped up where I could. I take a lot of pride in fitness. Pushing for doubles are easy runs, compared to a big shot. It has paid off before, hope to continue in the same way."
