Indian team has leveled the three-match ODI series against South Africa by 1-1 with an emphatic win in the second of the three-match ODI series. Both teams played this match at Jharkhand State Cricket Association International Stadium in Ranchi. South African skipper Keshav Maharaj won the toss and decided to bat first.
Batting first, the visitors posted a total of 278 runs, chased down by the men in blue in 45.5 overs. India won on the backs of the batting heroics of Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer.
Ishan Kishan, struggling with the run of form, smashed a knock of 93 runs and stitched a 161-run stand with Iyer for the third wicket. Although, Ishan was not picked in the Indian squad for the 20-20 World Cup squad set to be played in Australia on the 16th of October.
The star players including Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Dinesh Karthik were included in the team for the eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup.
Ishan Kishan was asked about his exclusion from the squad he replied positively. He went on to say that every player on the World Cup squad is in good touch. He also said that it is ok for him to wait for his opportunity.

“If you look at the T20 World Cup team, everyone is doing well. From openers to finishers so I will wait for my time. Selectors might have seen I need some improvements as well. So when my opportunity comes, I will be fully prepared,” said Ishan.
Now, Ishan Kishan will be in action during the third and final ODI of the series against South Africa. Both teams will play the series decider in Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The three-match series is leveled by a 1-1 as both teams have won one match each.
