The Chennai franchise is looking like a completely different side since Devon Conway has made his return to the playing XI. Ahead of the game against Hyderabad, Conway was, once again, given the opportunity to open the innings with Ruturaj Gaikwad.

The New Zealand batter ensured he make the opportunity count as he played an outstanding unbeaten knock of 85 runs in just 55 balls. His knock helped the team reach a mammoth score of 202 runs on the board. Chennai won that game by 13 runs.

In the next game against Bangalore, Conway put in another sensational batting performance. Opening the innings, he played a handy knock of 56 runs in 37 balls, including 6 fours and 2 sixes. Though, Chennai lost that game by 13 runs in the end.

In the ongoing match between Delhi and Chennai, Conway has continued his good form with the bat. He looked to play aggressively right from the start of his innings. He, along with Ruturaj Gaikwad, gave the team a pretty good start in the powerplay. The duo added 57 runs in the first six overs without any loss of wickets.

Gaikwad got out in the 11th over after scoring 41 runs in 33 balls, however, Conway continued to smack sixes and fours all around the ground. The New Zealand batter, once again, showcased his range of shots. Conway took a special liking to Kuldeep Yadav. He smashed India’s chinaman for 2 sixes and 1 four in the 8th over.

Kuldeep bowled again in the 10th over and Conway smashed him for three consecutive boundaries. The Chennai opener smashed a half-century in just 27 balls. It was his third consecutive half-century in the ongoing season. Conway went on to play a brilliant knock of 87 runs in 49 balls.
