India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been out of the game since the ODI World Cup 2023. During the game against Bangladesh, he injured his ankle and a few games later, he was ruled out of the tournament. Since then, Pandya is yet to play a game. During the tournament, the team didn't announce any replacement for the all-rounder.
After the tournament, the team played three T20I series, one ODI series, and Two Test series including the ongoing one against England. While the India all-rounder doesn't play the longest format of the game since 2018, he does play in the white-ball format. Meanwhile, in a video uploaded by the former Gujarat Titans captain, he was seen bowling in the nets.
"I'm feeling very good after coming back here. I treat (this ground) as a temple, because the amount of things I've learnt on this ground, it's like a temple for me. What it has taught me is priceless. My journey started literally 17 years back on this very ground. I will make sure everything possible today, and every day," he says in the video.
Hardik Pandya will lead Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024
The five-time IPL winner will lead the Mumbai Indians for the first time. He has replaced Rohit Sharma as captain.
