On 13 June 2023, the second match of the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) took place at Coimbatore. Chepauk Super Gillies took on Salem Spartans. Both teams were looking for a winning start to this edition of the tournament. However, the Super Gillies won the game by 52 runs.

But, during the match, the Spartans’ Abhishek Tanwar registered an unwanted record to his name by conceding 18 runs on one delivery. It was the last over of Gillies’ innings and on the last delivery of that over, he conceded 18 runs. Ultimately, the over went for 26 runs and seeing that, fans shared their views on social media.

On that last delivery, he bowled three no-balls one wide while got smacked for two sixes also. First, he bowled a no-ball, then on the free-hit, he hit six runs but it was another no-ball. So, the free-hit continued and he bowled another no-ball while the batter scored two runs also. Then, the free hit continued and it went for a wide. After that, finally, Tanwar bowled a legal delivery that went for a six and the innings came to an end. Speaking of the match, the Super Gillies won the toss and opted to bat first. They scored 217 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. 

Pradosh Ranjan Paul scored 88 runs off 55 balls, including 12 fours and one six. Abhishek Tanwar finished his spell of 44 runs in four overs with one wicket after that horrible last over. In reply, Salem Spartans scored 165 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by 52 runs. Muhammed Adnan Khan scored 47* runs off 15 balls, including one four and six sixes. Apart from him, no batters managed to score quick and big runs as they fell short by 52 runs to the 218-run target. Pradosh Ranjan Paul won the Player of the Match award for his 88-run knock.
