The stage is getting ready at M Chinnaswamy Stadium where Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the ongoing IPL on 26 April 2023. Earlier this season, KKR have already defeated RCB at Eden Gardens. So, KKR will look to defeat them once again this season.
But, their recent form has become a concern. They have lost their last four games consecutively and currently struggling in the eighth spot with four points in the points table. While RCB are in the fifth spot with eight points. So, an enthralling battle awaits these teams and their respective fans on 26 April.
Here are the possible three most run scorers in the RCB vs KKR clash in IPL 2023
1. Faf du Plessis
The RCB skipper is having a fantastic season so far with the bat. In seven matches, he has scored 405 runs, at an average of 67.50. Faf du Plessis is currently leading the race of winning the Orange Cap. This season, du Plessis has notched up five fifties. However, in the last two matches, he has not been captaining the side.
Due to his rib injury that he sustained against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Faf du Plessis has been playing as an impact player only. So, in his absence, Virat Kohli is leading the team. In the last match against Rajasthan Royals (RR), he scored 62 runs off 39 balls, including eight fours and two sixes. So, another top knock is expected from him against KKR.
2. Jason Roy
This star England batter joined the team as a replacement. As of now, he has played two matches so far. But, Roy has looked good with his shots. In two matches, Jason Roy has scored 104 runs in two matches, at an average of 52. In the last match against CSK, he sustained some injury while fielding and due to that discomfort, he failed to come out to open.
But, he came to bat in the middle order and smashed 61 runs off 26 balls, including five fours and five sixes. He played some outstanding shots all around the park and bashed CSK bowlers at Eden Gardens. So, KKR fans will hope that the pitch at M Chinnaswamy will suit Jason Roy to score another blistering knock.
3. Glenn Maxwell
This star Aussie all-rounder has been in great form for RCB this season. In IPL 2023 so far, Glenn Maxwell has scored 253 runs in seven matches, at an average of 42.16. His strike rate has been 188.80 and that has helped RCB score fast, especially during the middle overs. Maxwell has scored three fifties so far.
In the last match against RR, Maxwell came and scored 77 runs off 44 balls, including six fours and four sixes. He and Faf du Plessis put up a partnership of 127 runs for the third wicket. So, seeing such form, fans will expect another big inning from Glenn Maxwell at M Chinnaswamy Stadium against KKR.
