IND vs NZ: 5 Indian players who are in Sri Lanka series but not picked for ODIs against New Zealand

Team India is currently in action in the ongoing three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. Both teams will play the third and last of the three-match ODI series at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday, 15^th January. Meanwhile, the Indian selectors also announced the Indian squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand followed by the T20I series having the same number of matches. There are a few names in the Indian team who are currently in action during the series against Sri Lanka but they will not be a part of the men in blue for the series against the Kiwis.

The senior wicketkeeper-batter was enduring a poor run of form with the bat since the 20-20 World Cup 2022. He also failed to live up to the expectations in both the Test and ODI series against Bangladesh. In the ongoing series against the Islanders, KL Rahul is batting in the middle-order and has played two good knocks in the first and second ODI against Dasun Shanaka’s men.

But the 30-year-old batter is not selected for the squad for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand. The Indian Cricket Board stated in their official announcement that the Karnataka batter would not be available due to some personal and family commitments.
