In a major piece of news, the Indian cricket board is all set to organize the auction for the next season of the Indian T20 League. It is likely to be held later in the month of December this year. The media reports have learned that the 16th of December might be the date of the auction for the 16th edition of the Indian T20 league.

The salary purse allotted for the auction will be INR 95 crore which is 5 crores more than that of the last year. It also transliterates into the fact that each team will have reserves of INR 5 crores with which they’ll start in the auction. It can also change if any team goes to release or trade the players.

Since the conclusion of the 2022 edition of the Indian T20 League, there has been an alleged rift between Chennai and Ravindra Jadeja. So, it has also raised the speculations if the senior all-rounder will be traded to any other team or if the Chennai management would decide to release him.

President of the Indian cricket board, Sourav Ganguly has written in the same regard to the State cricket association about the normal structure of the Indian T20 League 2023. He said that it will be played with the regular model.

“The next season of men's IPL will also go back to the home and away format with all 10 teams playing their home matches at their designated venues,” wrote Ganguly in his letter to the state associations.

“The BCCI is currently working on the much-awaited Women's IPL. We are expecting to start the first season early next year. More details on this will follow in due course,” he added further.

Speaking of the 2022 edition of the Indian T20 League, then it has witnessed a new champion in the form of new entrants Gujarat. Star all-rounder was the captain of Gujarat in their debut season in the Indian T20 League.

The Indian cricket board is supposed to take this matter to the notice at the Annual General Meeting next month. As soon as the General body will approve it, further processes will be initiated for the commencement of the league.
