Fortune has finally favoured Bangalore. They beat Gujarat by eight wickets in the 67th game of the Indian T20 League 2022. They now have 16 points, and are still alive in the tournament. In order to qualify for the playoffs, the Bangalore-based franchise will now have to hope that Mumbai beat Delhi on Saturday.

As far as the game between Bangalore and Gujarat is concerned, the Faf du Plessis-led side were clinical, to say the least. The Hardik Pandya-led side weren't really at their best as they had an off day on the field. After winning the toss and deciding to bat first, the Gujarat-based franchise lost their first wicket in the form of Shubman Gill.
The talented youngster was dismissed after scoring just one. Besides, luck didn't favour Matthew Wade and Wriddhiman Saha. While a controversial decision saw the Australian walk back to the pavilion, Saha was run-out after scoring a 22-ball 32. After which, Hardik Pandya and David Miller hit some lusty blows.
Just when Miller looked set to get a big score, Wandinu Hasaranga got the better of him. Nevertheless, a composed knock by Gujarat's skipper Pandya ( 62 off 47) ensured that his side got to a respectable total. Besides Rashid Khan played a handy cameo as well. Thus, Bangalore were asked to chase, 169.
They didn't disappoint as the Bangalore openers came to bat with positive intent. They scored 55 runs in the first six overs. Virat Kohli was superb in particular as he finally got back to the groove. The batting maestro scored a brilliant 54-ball 73. While it came at a strike rate of 135.19, it consisted of eight fours and two sixes.
After Bangalore's skipper Faf was dismissed, things seemed a little dicey. However, Glenn Maxwell played a quickfire cameo of 40 from just 18 balls. He ensured that the Bangalore-based franchise chased their target rather comfortably. At the end, Bangalore got to their target with eight balls to spare.
