Back in 2017, Bangalore were bundled for 49 on April 23. Five years later, they displayed a similar kind of performance. While they did score more than 49, Bangalore were disappointing, to say the least. Having said that, Hyderabad continue to win games for fun. They beat Bangalore by nine wickets.
After losing their first two matches, the orange army have now won their last five games. It wouldn't be an overstatement to say that they now look like a force to reckon with. As far as the 36th game of the Indian T20 league 2022 is concerned, the Hyderabad-based franchise were just too good for the Faf du Plessis-led side. They dominated the game right from ball one.
The second over of the first innings saw Hyderabad's Marco Jansen pick three wickets. These three wickets included Du Plessis, Virat Kohli and Anuj Rawat. The 33-year-old has been struggling in the 2022 edition so far. Besides, he went on to register his second consecutive golden duck on Saturday.
After which, the rest of Bangalore's batters continued to return to the pavilion. None of their batters took the responsibility of getting their team to a respectable total. Due to this, the 2016-finalists only managed to score 68 runs in the first innings. This happens to be the sixth-lowest total in the history of the league.
An important point to be noted is that the pitch wasn't really difficult to bat on, and by no means was it a minefield. As for Hyderabad's bowlers, Jansen and T Natrajan were simply sensational. Both the pacers picked three wickets each. Thus, the Kane Williamson-led side went on to chase the total rather comfortably.
Abhishek Sharma scored a superb 28-ball 47 before being dismissed in the eighth over. He struck eight fours and a six. Nevertheless, Hyderabad chased the total with as many as 12 overs to spare. Thus, Twitter users were absolutely ruthless as they brutally trolled Bangalore. They posted several memes on the game.
Here are some of the best memes from today's game:
