The 34th match of the Indian T20 League 2022 is slated to be played between Delhi and Rajasthan at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Friday.
The match was earlier scheduled to be played in Pune. However, it has now been shifted to Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai due to the rise in Covid-19 cases in the Delhi camp.
For the unversed, Tim Siefert became the second cricketer after Mitchell Marsh to have contracted with Covid-19 on Wednesday.
Team News:
Delhi:
After suffering a defeat at the hands of Bangalore, Delhi bounced back strongly on Wednesday as they registered a crushing a 9-wicket win over Punjab.
They would be brimming with confidence and would be eager to add another 2 points to their name on Friday. Currently, Delhi are sitting at 6th position on the table with 3 wins in 6 matches.
Players unavailable: Mitchell Marsh and Tim Siefert
Players to watch out for:
- Prithvi Shaw
Prithvi Shaw has been in sensational form. He has been consistently providing top-notch starts for Delhi with the bat. In the last game as well, he scored an outstanding knock of 41 runs in 20 balls, a knock which was studded with 7 fours and 1 six.
- David Warner
After enduring a poor outing with the bat in his first game, David Warner has scored a half-century in every game he played since. He is coming into the game on the back of three-consecutive half-centuries. He is the man in form and will be a player to watch out for.
- Kuldeep Yadav
There is no denying the fact that Kuldeep Yadav has been a revelation for Delhi in the ongoing season. He has picked wickets consistently and also returned with valuable figures of 2 for 24 in 4 overs in the last match.
Currently, he has the second most number of wickets to his name. In 6 matches, he has managed to pick 13 wickets at an average of 14.31.
Probable Playing XI:
Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Rovman Powell, Lalit Yadav, Sarfaraz Khan, Shardul Thakur, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mustafizur Rahman, Khaleel Ahmed
Rajasthan:
Rajasthan are flying high in the tournament. In what was a high-scoring thriller, Rajasthan bowlers held their nerves to beat Kolkata by 7 runs in their last game.
Yuzvendra Chahal picked a hat-trick and Jos Buttler scored a century in that game. Rajasthan currently has 4 wins in 6 matches this season.
Players to watch out for:
- Jos Buttler
Jos Buttler is in the form of his life. He is, arguably, the best batsman in the modern-day game as far as T20 cricket is concerned. Buttler has 2 centuries already this season in 6 matches and is currently the highest run-getter this season. In 6 matches, he has managed to score 375 runs at an average of 75.00.
- Yuzvendra Chahal
If Jos Buttler has been doing the job for Rajasthan with the bat, Chahal has been doing it with the ball. His 4-wicket over in the last game turned the game completely on its head and helped Rajasthan secure their fourth win.
Chahal completed a five-wicket haul in that game and is currently the highest wicket-taker in the tournament.
- Sanju Samson
Sanju Samson has been making crucial contributions with the bat and is in a pretty good touch. He played a vital knock of 38 runs in 19 balls in the last match. He will be looking to play a big knock on Friday.

Pitch Report:
The pitch is known for high-scoring contests. The ball comes nicely on to the batsmen as the batsmen gets ideal bounce. However, there will be movement early on and the seamers tend to get help from the surface as well. One could expect a good contest between both bat and ball. With the dew factor taking into consideration, expect both teams to bowl first upon winning the toss.
