Delhi and Punjab are set to take on each other in the 32nd match of the Indian T20 League 2022 on Wednesday at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Problems are aplenty for Delhi at the moment. Having registered only 2 wins in 5 matches, they are currently languishing at third from the bottom of the points table.
On the other hand, Punjab are just above them with three wins in 6 games. After winning against Mumbai by 12 runs, Punjab suffered a 7-wicket thrashing in their last game against Hyderabad. Mayank Agarwal and Co. would be looking to get back to winning ways.
Team News:
Delhi:
Mitchell Marsh has tested positive for Covid-19 and will be under quarantine. However, the other players have returned with negative tests in the latest rounds of testing, which is a big relief for the team. David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, and Rishabh Pant are in top form.
Once again, the onus will be on them to score the bulk of the runs. Sarfaraz Khan is likely to come back into the side, while Rovman Powell ought to take some responsibility and come back into form. Delhi are also dearly missing the services of Anrich Nortje. He might make a comeback into the side on Wednesday.
Players unavailable: Mitchell Marsh
Players to watch out for:
- Prithvi Shaw
The Delhi opener has been in top form. He is providing stellar starts at the top of the order. He is currently the highest run-getter for the team, having managed to score 176 runs in 5 matches at a a strike rate of 164. He would look to play an impactful knock on Wednesday.

- Rishabh Pant
Delhi skipper, Rishabh Pant is in top-class form. However, he needs to take on the responsibility and finish the game for the team. In the last game, he played a solid knock of 34 runs in 17 balls. However, had he stayed there till the end, Delhi would have won the game pretty easily.
Probable Playing XI:
Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Rovman Powell, Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Mustafizur Rahman, Khaleel Ahmed
Punjab:
It won’t be wrong to say that Punjab aren’t playing to their potential in the tournament. The batting hasn’t clicked so far. Mayank Agarwal was unavailable in the last game, while Shikhar Dhawan hasn’t been consistent enough. Bairstow is yet to find form, while Shahrukh Khan hasn’t lived up to the expectations.
Liam Livingstone has been doing the bulk of the scoring. He played a stellar knock in the last game. However, the other batsmen also need to take responsibility if Punjab are to beat Delhi on Wednesday. Besides, you might see Odean Smith getting dropped in the next game.
Players to watch out for:
- Mayank Agarwal

Pitch Report
The 32nd match of Indian T20 League between Delhi and Punjab is scheduled to be played at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. The wicket here is a bit slow and the ball doesn’t come on nicely to the bat. The batsmen might get out while playing a bit too early. 160-170 is a competitive score here and both teams should look to bowl first upon winning the toss.
