The 20th match of the Indian T20 League 2022 will have Rajasthan take on Lucknow at Wankhede Cricket Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday. Lucknow are flying pretty high in the tournament. After losing their first match against Gujarat, KL Rahul and Co. have bounced back with three consecutive wins.
On the other hand, Rajasthan too are playing pretty well in the tournament. Though they are coming off a defeat at the hands of Bangalore. Sanju Samson and Co. would be eager to get back to winning ways.
Team News:
Lucknow:
Lucknow have ticked all boxes in the tournament so far. The arrival of Jason Holder has added much-needed balance to the side. The batting unit has been firing on all cylinders, while their bowling performances too have inspired a lot of confidence. Lucknow won their last game against Delhi by 6 wickets. They restricted Delhi to 149 runs before chasing it down in 19.4 overs.
Players to watch out for:
- Quinton de Kock
Quinton de Kock showed his importance in the last game against Delhi. Chasing a 149-run total, Quinton de Kock played a match-winning knock of 80 runs in just 52 balls, including 9 fours and 2 sixes. De Kock will, once again, be responsible of giving the team a solid start in the power play.
- KL Rahul
Rajasthan Royals have a pretty good bowling attack. Thus, it’s important that KL Rahul must lead from the front with the bat. He should not only provide a solid start but convert that into a big score as well. The Lucknow skipper currently has 132 runs to his name in 4 matches at an average of 33.00.
- Ayush Badoni
Ayush Badoni has impressed one and all with his superb ball-striking in the ongoing edition. He has played some outstanding cameos for the side. It will be interesting to see how he plays against the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin on Sunday.
Probable Playing XI:
KL Rahul (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Evin Lewis, Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, Jason Holder, Krunal Pandya, Krishnappa Gowtham, Andrew Tye, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan
Rajasthan
Rajasthan have managed to compile a pretty solid squad this year and are, certainly, looking like a title contender. With 2 wins in 3 matches, they are sitting at number four on the points table. Though, they are coming off a defeat at the hands of Bangalore, despite a stellar knock from Jos Buttler. It will be interesting to see if they will make any changes in the playing XI
- Jos Buttler:
Jos Buttler is the man in form. He is coming into the game on the back of two sensational knocks in the last two matches. Buttler scored a century against Mumbai and followed it with a 70 off 47 in the next game against Bangalore. He will, unarguably, be the most important batter in the next game for Rajasthan.
- Sanju Samson
One of the best ball-strikers in white-ball cricket, Sanju Samson will be a player to watch out for. Samson has got a pretty good start in the competition. He is looking to give himself some time before unleashing himself. Samson is expected to have a great season with the bat.
- Yuzvendra Chahal
With the ball, Yuzvendra Chahal will be Rajasthan’s biggest bet. Chahal has bowled exceptionally well in the tournament and is currently the third highest wicket-taker. He has 7 wickets to his name in 3 matches at 9.00.
Probable Playing XI:
Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Devdutt Padikkal, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, Ravichandran Ashwin, Navdeep Saini, Trent Boult, Yuzvendra Chahal, Prasidh Krishna
