Team News:

Delhi:

Under the leadership of Rishabh Pant, Delhi have made a winning start despite the fact that some of their key players were missing. They conceded 171 runs in the first innings against Mumbai.. Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 for 18 in 4 overs. Rishabh Pant and Co. chased down the score in 18.2 overs, thanks to significant contributions from Prithvi Shaw, Lalit Yadav, and Axar Patel.

Prithvi Shaw, Tim Seifert, Yash Dhull, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Rovman Powell, Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Khaleel Ahmed, Kuldeep Yadav, Chetan Sakariya

Players to watch out for:

  1. Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw made an aggressive start in the first game against MI. He made 38 runs in 24 balls but, once again, failed to convert the start into a big score. Shaw has got a lot of experience under his belt now and the team would want him to play big knocks with the bat.

  1. Rishabh Pant

Unfortunately, Rishabh Pant got out cheaply in the last match. He made only 1 run in just 2 deliveries. However, it doesn’t take away the fact that Pant is in an outstanding form and is expected to play a big knock on Sunday.

  1. Rovman Powell

Rovman Powell showed his power-hitting ability in the series against England and then against India. We all know what he can do with the bat once he gets going. He could be the ‘X’ factor player for Delhi this year.

  1. Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav hasn’t played for India for a very long time but surprised one and all with his outstanding bowling display against Mumbai. Kuldeep picked three wickets for just 22 runs in his four-over spell. He will be a man to watch out for on Sunday.

Gujarat:

Riding on a sensational spell from Mohammed Shami, Gujarat left Lucknow reeling at 29 for 4 in the first match. However, the latter recovered well and managed 158 runs at the end of the first innings. Gujarat, in pursuit of that score, lost 4 wickets for 78 runs but a superb partnership between David Miller and Rahul Tewatia helped the team chase down the score in 19.4 overs. Heading into their next match, the franchise would be hoping to continue the winning momentum.

Probable Playing XIs:

Shubman Gill, Matthew Wade (wk), Vijay Shankar, Abhinav Manohar, Hardik Pandya (c), David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Lockie Ferguson, Varun Aaron, Mohammed Shami

 Players to watch out for:

  1. Shubman Gill

Unfortunately for Gujarat, Shubman Gill got out without opening his account in the last game. Gill would be keen to make a strong comeback on Sunday and play a match-winning knock. He holds key to Gujarat’s fortune in the tournament.

  1. Hardik Pandya

Much to the delight of Gujarat fans, Pandya bowled all four overs in the last game. He bowled well in the first three overs but conceded plenty of runs in his last over. With the bat, he looked solid for his 28-ball 33-run knock. There is no denying the fact that he is one of the most important members in the team.

  1. Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami produced a sensational spell in the power play in the last game. He picked three out of the first four wickets and left the opposition reeling at 29 for 4. Shami returned with exceptional figures of 3 for 25 in 4 overs. He will be a player to watch out for on Sunday.

  1. Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan’s presence in the team makes them a formidable bowling outfit. His four-over spell is going to prove crucial in every match in the tournament. Rashid conceded 27 runs for 1 wicket in the last game.

Pitch Report: So far, only one match of the ongoing tournament has been held at this ground. It was a high-scoring affair as Rajasthan Royal posted a mammoth 210-run total in the first innings against Hyderabad. In reply, the latter could only manage to score 149 runs. Expect the upcoming game to be another high-scoring encounter. With dew coming in later in the game, expect both teams to bowl first upon winning the toss.
