The third game of the Indian T20 league 2022 turned out to be an absolute cracker of a contest. The fans were treated to a high-scoring thriller on Sunday. Besides, this was the start of a new era for both, Punjab, as well as Bangalore. At the end, it was the Mayank Agarwal-led side that emerged victorious.

They won the game with five wickets. Prior to that, Bangalore scored 205 on the board. Fans had a lot of expectations from Bangalore's new captain Faf du Plessis and he didn't disappoint. The Proteas batter scored a sensational 88 from just 57 balls. Even the likes of Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik were superb as both of them gave the ideal finish for their side in the second innings.
Owing to the batting-friendly conditions at the DY Patil Stadium, Punjab had an aggressive start as their openers put on a 71-run partnership. After which, the Faf-led side bounced back as they kept on getting crucial wickets at regular intervals. Mohammed Siraj's third over added more spice to the game as he dismissed Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Raj Bawa in the same over.
After which, Shahrukh Khan and Odean Smith showed no mercy on the Bangalore bowlers as they put together a 52-run partnership together. For his sensational cameo, Smith went on to win the player of the match award as well. Thus, they ended up chasing the total with an over to spare.
