Coming on to bat first, the Indian side lost Ishan Kishan very early. The other batter Deepak Hooda however carried his form into the second T20I and made a sensational 104 off of 57 balls with the help of nine boundaries and six sixes. Sanju Samson also grabbed the opportunity and made a quickfire 77 off of 42 balls. With the help of these two, India managed to get to a high score of 225/7. Mark Adair with a bowling figure of 4-42-3 was their best bowler with Joshua Little and Craig Young coming out with two wickets each.

Having made such as total, most cricket fans thought of it as an easy win for the visiting side. It however wasnโ€™t the case. Ireland made a great fightback of their own, with openers Paul Stirling (40 off of 18) and captain Andrew Balbirnie (60 off of 37) racing millions of Indian hearts. Even after their dismissal, the last match hero Harry Tector (39 off of 28) and George Dockrell (34 off of 16) continued their fightback against India. In the end, it was all left to Dockrell and Mar Adair to complete the run chase.

In the last over, Ireland just needed 12 runs, which is when Umran Malik was handed the ball by the Indian captain Hardik Pandya. With Umran bowling over 140, it seemed like it was too much for the Irish side but the wind again changed in their favour and Mark Adair hit two consecutive fours to inch the target even closer.

The score, however, was a little too high for the Irish team and they eventually lost by four runs. Despite getting hit for two boundaries, the Indian speedster was able to defend the target. India won the match by a small margin, but the Irish came up with a moral victory, having come so close to the target.

This is the second-lowest margin of win for a side after making 220+ runs in T20I.
