India faced South Africa in the third T20I of the three-match series at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bowl first. However, his team struggled with the ball. Quinton de Kock's early boundaries gave South Africa a strong start in the match. Temba Bavuma, on the other hand, continued his disastrous form from the previous match, departing after only three runs.

After the first wicket fell in the fifth over, Rilee Rossouw joined De Kock and immediately began smacking the ball. They collaborated to form a strong partnership and never gave the bowlers any opportunities. Each scored a half-century and added 90 runs for the team. De Kock (68), who was attempting a quick double, was eventually run out for a total of 120 in 12.1 overs. Russow, on the other hand, continued his rampage and scored his first T20I century.

He was eventually helped by Tristan Stubbs (23) and David Miller (19). Russow contributed 100 runs to the Proteas' 227/3 score. Deepak Chahar and Umesh Yadav were India's only two wicket-takers, each with one.

The Men in Blue got off to a bad start, losing skipper Rohit (0) on the second ball of the chase. Shreyas Iyer (1) also left soon, putting India in jeopardy. Dinesh Karthik (46) was promoted up the order to put him through his paces ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup, and he delivered to a degree. He had a small 41-run partnership with Rishabh Pant (27).

South Africa, on the other hand, was electric in the field and kept taking wickets. Harshal Patel and Deepak Chahar hit a few boundaries during the game, but it wasn't enough for them. Finally, they were all-out for a team score of 178. The Proteas registered a 49-run victory to end the three-match series 2-1.

Despite losing the series, the Temba Bavuma-led side will have a lot of positives going into the T20 World Cup in Australia in just a few days.
