The Asia Cup campaign for the India U-19 team begins with a match against Afghanistan in Dubai on Friday, with Pakistan facing Nepal in the other opening-day fixture. The much-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan in the U-19 Asian Cup is set for December 10 in the eight-team competition.
The participating teams are divided into two groups, with India and Pakistan placed in Pool A alongside Afghanistan and Nepal. Pool B consists of Bangladesh, Japan, Sri Lanka, and the hosts UAE. Following the U-19 Asia Cup format, only two teams from each pool will advance to the semifinals on December 15, while the final is scheduled for December 17.
The latest edition of the tournament, held in 2021, saw India emerge victorious by defeating Sri Lanka. This marked their record eighth title and featured notable IPL players in the squad, including Yash Dhull, Raj Bawa, and Rajvardhan Hangarekar. India clinched their first title in 1989 during the inaugural edition of the tournament. The second edition of the tournament took place in 2003 in Pakistan.
