India is set to host England in a Women's Test match at the DY Patil Cricket Stadium in Navi Mumbai from December 14 to 17. Leading up to the Test, there will be three T20Is to be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on December 6, 9, and 10. This series marks a significant event as it will be India's first Women's Test since 2014 when they hosted South Africa in Mysore. The Test match will be played as a four-day contest, making it a special occasion for women's cricket in India.

Before the main series, there will be an 'A' tour in Mumbai, where India A will face England A in three T20Is. This tour is expected to provide valuable exposure to up-and-coming talent in both teams. Many of the England players, including captain Heather Knight, are currently participating in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) in Australia. On the other hand, the majority of India's internationals are involved in the Senior Women's T20 Trophy's first round, demonstrating the high level of women's cricket activities leading up to this series.

In recent years, women's Test cricket has seen a resurgence, with India playing Tests against Australia and England in 2021. These matches have garnered significant interest and are a testament to the growth of women's cricket worldwide. Additionally, there is another exciting series on the horizon as Australia is also scheduled to tour India in December and January. This seven-match multi-format series will feature the reigning World Champions in both white-ball and red-ball cricket, adding to the anticipation and excitement for cricket fans.

The upcoming tour will consist of one Test match, three ODIs, and three T20Is. Following the one-off Test, the three ODIs will also be held at the Wankhede Stadium, while the T20Is are scheduled to take place at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai in January 2024.

Australia previously visited India for a five-match T20I series in December last year, where they played two T20Is at the DY Patil Stadium and the rest of the matches at the CCI Brabourne. The visitors secured a 4-1 series win. Moreover, the Meg Lanning-led Australian side triumphed in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2023 in Cape Town, defeating India before lifting the trophy by beating the host nation, South Africa.

England's last visit to India was in 2019, during which they lost the ODI series 2-1 at Wankhede but won the T20I series 3-0 in Guwahati. Mumbai has become a prominent hub for women's cricket matches in India, having previously hosted the Australia series and the inaugural edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL) in the city.
