The BCCI selection committee has announced the India squad for the upcoming white-ball home series against West Indies. The series gets underway on February 6 with the ODI leg and comprises three ODIs and as many T20Is. Rohit Sharma has returned to the team as captain after passing the fitness test earlier in the day.
Opener Shikhar Dhawan, who had impressing outings in South Africa, has retained his place. Ravindra Jadeja, who missed the South Africa tour due to an injury he picked in the first Test against New Zealand, is still recovering and won't be available for the series, while senior pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been dropped from the ODIs but will be available for T20Is. Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested. Kuldeep Yadav has also returned to the ODI squad. India vice-captain KL Rahul will join the team from the second ODI.
Ravichandran Ashwin's name is also missing from the squads. Ashwin made a return to ODIs, on the South Africa tour. Deepak Hooda has received his maiden call in the India ODI squad, while Ravi Bishnoi has found a place in both squads. Axar Patel will be available for T20Is.
